The idea of the Tilnar Cycle Challenge is that you plot your own route or circuit for the day. However, we hope that events will grow up around the Tilnar Cycle Challenge and an Essex Circuit and Event has now been set up. In 2018 it will be based from The White Hart in Moreton and there will be a signed 30 to 35 miles suggested circuit that Essex and London based cyclists can follow. It is signed with Orange Tilnar Cycle Challenge Arrows.
The White Hart is in the beautiful village of Moreton and has a large car park and children’s play area. It will also have a children’s bouncy castle on the day and will be hosting a BBQ during the afternoon. The White Hart hopes to become a destination stop for cyclists and already is very popular with cyclists on the Dunwich Dynamo each year so do please pop in when out on your training rides. Challengers are obviously welcome to base yourselves from many of the other café’s and pubs along the circuit and this may come a necessity when we feel the numbers are full at The White Hart, so please let us know if you would like to use The White Hart as your base. Challengers will be starting from 6am and should be back at The White Hart at various intervals throughout the day. The circuit is fast and flat with 232.5 miles being the furthest ridden on our Circuit so far.
Please note that the circuit is only a suggested route and cyclists will be free to base themselves from The White Hart and ride their own route or cut out sections from the signed route if they wish. If you choose to ride the circuit you obviously do so at your own risk and you are responsible for your own safety at all times. As The White Hart is in a rural location, it will be a great base for families to do their rides on quiet country lanes in the 2018 Tilnar Cycle Challenge.
The Essex Route
The 2018 Circuit is still being finalised and the final circuit will be published shortly.
